    Christ, our God

Lately the question of whether Christ was actually God come up.  As I have been reading I have come across multiple verses that only solidify my faith.

Going all the way back to the old testament in Leviticus 26:12 and quoted again by Paul in the new testament in 2 Corinthians 6:16, the promise that God will not only walk the earth, but deliver.  “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God..”

Once again in 2 Corinthians 4 Paul says “Christ, who is the image of God”, is not just man, “but Jesus Christ as Lord…”

I don’t know about you but, I really couldn’t have it any clearer than this especially when all through out the Gospels, and particularly in Matthew, the scriptures tell of how when Jesus was born the wise men comes to worship him.  Matthew 2:2  “For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

As Jesus begins his ministry and deliverance, he is continued to be called “Lord”, another word for God, King, and sovereign.

Now fast forward a bit to when Jesus is tempted by Satan in chapter 4.  When Satan tries to bribe Jesus to worship him in return for the kingdom of the world Jesus responds with a quote from the old testament “You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.”

There is only one thing you can derive from this, and that is there is only one God to worship and that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
